Microsoft rolled out Copilot Vision to every Windows 10 and 11 user in the United States. The upgrade costs nothing. The AI looks at a shared window and chats in real time. Mustafa Suleyman announced the launch on X, calling it “free” and live today.
Vision sits inside the Copilot app. Click the small glasses icon, pick any open window, and the assistant immediately reads what it sees. It then speaks or types back, offering commands or summaries. The flow resembles a Teams screen-share, but avoids extra meeting overhead.
During an April preview on campus, Copilot guided Adobe Photoshop, highlighted menus, and suggested quick edits. It also scanned a news site, pulled key facts, and answered follow-ups. Today’s build keeps that pace. Unlike the shelved Recall tool, Vision waits for explicit consent and never records the desktop.

Vision runs on Windows 10 version 22H2 or later and every current Windows 11 build. Microsoft dropped the Copilot Pro paywall for this feature. Rollout starts now and should reach all eligible PCs within a week. The company plans wider markets next, yet gave no timeline.
Vision is the first major consumer release under Suleyman, who moved from Inflection AI to run Microsoft AI in March 2024. Earlier this year the team plugged GPT-4o into Copilot, boosting voice, image, and document reasoning. Microsoft also shipped standalone Copilot apps for macOS, iOS, and Android. The company hopes screen context will tie those efforts together.
Vision lives inside the Copilot Labs track, so Microsoft can tweak features quickly and collect feedback. For Windows users, that means real help that sees, listens, and responds without extra cost.
