Microsoft Store Update

June 5, 2025 – Microsoft rolled out several updates to its Store on Windows, aiming to make app discovery faster and more relevant. The homepage now adapts to each user. Gamers will see the latest releases, productivity fans will find new tools, and developers will spot useful utilities. Over the next few weeks, recommendations will reflect recent activity, regional trends, and special offers. You can control these suggestions through your Store settings.

Microsoft rebuilt search to return more relevant results. The new algorithm factors in app ratings, update history, and language nuances. In the United States, Copilot now appears on product pages. You can ask questions or compare two apps side by side. On every product page, a “Discover More” section highlights related titles. Badges will flag apps with AI features or those optimized for Copilot+ PCs.

Other recent Microsoft news –

The Store now ties more closely with Windows itself. You can launch Windows Search, type an app name, and install it directly from the results. Microsoft is testing a feature that suggests apps when you try to open unsupported file types. If you don’t have a default app for a file extension, the context menu will propose relevant Store apps. Insiders in the U.S. and China can try this by right-clicking a file and selecting “Open With.”

Under the hood, the Store launches twice as fast as it did six months ago. Installation reliability improved too. Make sure you run the latest Windows update to see these gains. Other tweaks include the option to install individual game components, faster in-app rating prompts, and a field on product pages showing the last update date.

Microsoft also welcomed several new partners since December. Apps like Notion, Perplexity, Docker, and Day One joined the Store. Manus, an autonomous AI agent for productivity, plans to arrive soon. Microsoft continues to gather user feedback via the Feedback Hub (WIN + F) under Microsoft Store. Check the “What’s New” section in the Store for future releases.
