Microsoft Copilot will soon schedule meetings from Outlook emails

You can enable Copilot in Outlook in a few easy steps, and after that, the AI tool will help you draft your email and summarize the long ones you receive in your Outlook inbox. In addition, Microsoft Copilot will do much more than that in Outlook in a few months: it’ll help you schedule meetings right from the Outlook email threads.

According to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap page, a “Schedule with Copilot” option will be available to Outlook users, and clicking on it will generate a meeting invite, which will be a form consisting of “meeting title, agenda, and conversation summary as well as a pre-filled attendee list from the email thread and an attachment of the original email thread”.

The meeting scheduling with the Copilot feature is designed to save users’ time and effort by streamlining the process of generating meeting invites, thus helping Outlook users be productive. What’s also good news is that Outlook users won’t have to wait much for the new schedule meeting feature to be available. Per the Roadmap page (Feature ID: 372895), it’ll be available in Preview from next month, with general availability in May.

However, it’s worth noting that Copilot in Outlook is available only for Microsoft 365 subscribers. If you’re a paid Microsoft 365 user, you’ll be able to use Copilot’s meeting scheduling feature in pretty much all Outlook clients, including Android, Mac, iOS, Desktop, and Web. Additionally, the feature will be available for the new Outlook for Windows app.

Besides Copilot’s scheduling feature, Microsoft is working on several other useful features for Outlook users. Some of the major capabilities coming to Outlook include the Newsletter function,  drag-and-drop support for downloading attachments and emails, new ways to copy emails, and being able to organize folders, and more.
