Google has released Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview, an updated version of its flagship AI model. This announcement was made just before the upcoming I/O developer conference with a focus on building interactive web apps. The 2.5 Pro not only performs better in coding, but it also leads the WebDev Arena Leaderboard. The AI also achieved a score of 84.8% on the VideoMME benchmark, hinting at a better understanding of video-related tasks.

The model is accessible through the Gemini API, Google AI Studio, and Vertex AI platforms, and is integrated into the Gemini chatbot application for both web and mobile users. It maintains the same pricing as the previous Gemini 2.5 Pro model.

According to Google, Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview (I/O edition) offers improved performance in code transformation and editing tasks. It also addresses previous developer feedback by reducing errors in function calling and enhancing trigger rates. This release is part of Google’s ongoing efforts to advance its AI capabilities and provide developers with more powerful tools for application development.
