Microsoft is finally releasing the first version of Code Interpreter in Bing AI Chat, which now goes by Copilot. The company’s spokesperson also promises that its full version, which includes file uploading capability, is coming “close.”
It will work on both Creative and Precise modes, both on Copilot for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Mikhail Parakhin, who serves as Redmond’s CEO of Advertising & Web Services, announced today on X (fka Twitter):
I know, I've been promising Code Interpreter for a while. We are flighting the first version and the full version (with the file upload) is close now, too. pic.twitter.com/ZjDfiRie0g

“The version we are flighting now is the simpler one, but the full version (ChatGPT-parity-like) is weeks away, too,” he also says.
With Code Interpreter, you can directly execute code from the platform, and it’s extremely useful for data analysis, machine learning, and automation.
The feature has been in the works for quite some time. We reported back in late November this year that Parakhin teased the Code Interpreter feature, alongside the PDF uploads feature.
As the name of the feature suggests, it likely works like Code Interpreter on ChatGPT which went live for Beta testing back in August.
