Google is scheduled to hold an event on 9th October where the company will launch Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL along with some Pixel accessories. However, those might not be the only things one needs to look forward to at the event. Here’s a list of things that Google might announce at their event.

Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL

Starting with the obvious, Google will launch Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL at their event. Both the devices have been leaked extensively and we know almost everything about the devices. The Pixel 3 will be the no notch smaller variant of Pixel 3 XL which will come with a notch. According to a recent leaked hands-on video, Pixel 3 XL will come with a Snapdragon 845 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage. Both the devices will have a single rear camera and will come with dual front cameras. Google is also rumoured to bundle USB Type-C earphones with the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Both the new devices will have all the software features which came with Pixel 2 like Active Edge, Tap to Wake, swipe down on the fingerprint scanner to open notification shade, etc. Apart from these features, Google is also adding some new features to the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. You can head below to take a look at the new features coming to the device.

  • Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be able to understand the name of a restaurant mentioned in an email. Long pressing on this restaurant name gives the user an option to book a reservation.

  • The camera will be able to scan someone’s email address from their business card. Tapping on the detected email address directly send you to the compose email section of the Gmail app.

  • Other camera features include swiping left or right on the viewfinder to let the user cycle through the different camera/video modes.

Pixel Ultra

Along with the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, Google is also rumoured to launch Pixel Ultra. The rumours were based on the fact that Google asked YouTubers to share clips of them criticizing the notch. This started rumours that the Pixel 3 XL was in fact a fake or dummy that Google leaked intentionally to capture the reactions but the real Pixel 3 XL will come with no notch and a better design. However, those rumours were soon dismissed as we saw more proof of the fact that there is no Pixel Ultra. That said, there is still a chance that we will see the Pixel Ultra alongside Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL but it’s better not to get our hopes up.

Pixel Stand

Pixel Stand is another long rumoured Pixel accessory that might launch with the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Google is rumoured to finally add Wireless Charging to Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL so there’s a good chance Pixel Stand will be launched alongside the Pixel phones. The Pixel Stand will able to do a variety of tasks along with Wireless Charging. According to a couple of  leaks, Pixel Stand will come with Google Assistant and will act as a dock as well as a smart speaker. Not only that, but the Pixel Stand will also be able to perform tasks like provide Weather information, Set a reminder, Set a timer, Play a game, Make a phone call, Read my messages, Play music, Set an alarm, Set a timer, Play news, and Explore what’s new.

Unfortunately, the Pixel Stand will work with only the upcoming Pixel devices as the existing Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL doesn’t support Wireless Charging. That said, Pixel Stand would be a great accessory for users switching to Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL.

Google Pixelbook 2

Google also plans to launch the Pixelbook 2 along with Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL devices. According to the rumours, Pixelbook 2 will run on ChromeOS but there are isolated reports of Google testing another operating system called “Fuchsia OS”. The Fuchsia Operating System is based on Zircon microkernel which is different than the Linux Kernal used in Android and Chrome OS. This suggests that the company might be planning something entirely different than the existing projects. The Pixelbook 2 is also rumoured to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon processor which is again an isolated report but highly plausible. Coming to the device, it looks like a 13-inch display with USB Type-C ports on the bottom. The device also has a small bump on the top left corner which might be the fingerprint sensor. The device is also rumoured to come with a MicroSD Card slot. The Pixelbook 2 is rumoured to launch with a price tag of around $400.

Google Pixel Slate Chromebook

Google Pixel Slate Chromebook was leaked last night. The Slate Chromebook is going to be blend between Pixelbook and Pixel-C tablet. The Pixel Slate Chromebook will come with a 3:2 aspect ratio, a rear camera and will run on ChromeOS. The tablet will also have stereo speakers and a USB Type-C port along with what looks like a fingerprint sensor on the top. The Pixel Slate Chromebook will also come with a Keyboard dock to be used as a laptop. Moreover, Google also plans to launch a stylus with Chromebook but we aren’t sure if both the accessories will be bundled or we will have to buy them separately.

Unless Google has managed to hide their any of the Pixel devices in plain sight, it’s safe to say that we have covered all the product categories. The event will take take place on 9th October. Stay tuned for the full coverage of the event.
