Microsoft rolled out a fresh set of updates to the Xbox app on Windows today, aiming to cut down on the clicks it takes to find and launch your favorite games.

The app now lands you right where it should – straight inside your library. When you open it, you’ll see your installed titles front and center, with quick access to Game Pass and Microsoft Store picks just a tab away. Microsoft says users wanted less friction between booting the app and jumping into a game. So they built exactly that.

Game discovery also got a boost. The “All PC Games” section now features cleaner filters. You can sort by features like controller support, cross-platform compatibility, or multiplayer availability, without endless scrolling. Genre sorting got smarter, too. Microsoft streamlined filter options to cut through clutter and show only what’s relevant.

Other recent Microsoft news –

Search performance improved as well. Results now load faster and better match your input, even if you don’t type the game title perfectly.

The update follows months of feedback from players who felt the app buried useful features under too many layers. Microsoft didn’t overhaul the whole thing, but it listened and shipped fixes that make the experience smoother.

You can grab the updated Xbox app now through the Microsoft Store or by checking for updates in the app itself.
