Microsoft Garage has released a new AI-powered photo app on Github. The app, called Snip Insights, promises to offer insights from images and can deliver the following relevant information from any photo:

  • Editable and translated text
  • Calendar events
  • Email templates
  • Auto-filled descriptive file naming
  • Similar images
  • Celebrity profiles & news
  • Landmark recognition
  • Similar products

The app leverages Microsoft Azure’s Cognitive Services APIs to increase users’ productivity by reducing the number of steps needed to gain intelligent insights.

The Windows 10 app is open source and can be found on Github here.
