One thing which is always surprising about the Google Home Hub is how tiny it is in real life, with the device looking deceptively large in pictures.
It appears Google is set to address this with a new Nest Hub Max with a massive 10-inch screen.
A new home automation device under the Nest umbrella, the Nest Hub Max was leaked by the Google Store’s Connected device section, where AndroidPolice noticed it before it was pulled.
Besides the large screen the device will also feature stereo speakers and (unlike the Home Hub) a Nest Cam camera, with Google presumably suggesting the device be placed in a central location to keep an eye on your home while also allowing calls to be made using Google’s network.
Nest has been increasingly hewing towards home security with their range of Nest cameras, and we expect the Nest Hub Max to unify in some way Google Assitant and the Nest range, much like the Nest Cam IQ had Google Assitant grafted on after release.
Google is, of course, competing with Amazon’s burgeoning and somewhat more coherent range of Echo products and are by some counts catching up in some areas. The Nest Hub Max has not been officially announced, so we have no idea what its exact specs and arrival date to me, but like everything Google, I expect this will also leak soon.
