Destiny 2’s ‘The Edge of Fate’ Expansion Confirmed For July 15, Know What's New

June 3, 2025 – Bungie has announced that Destiny 2’s next expansion, The Edge of Fate, will launch on July 15, 2025, introducing a new destination, gameplay mechanics, and gear systems.

What’s New in Destiny 2’s Expansion

Players will explore Kepler, a mysterious planetoid located in the Oort Cloud. This new setting features environmental puzzles and traversal challenges, drawing inspiration from Metroidvania-style games. The narrative focuses on the enigmatic group known as the Nine, shifting away from the traditional Light and Darkness themes.

The Edge of Fate introduces several other gameplay updates such as:

• Portal System: A new activity selection interface offering quick access to various missions, including the newly introduced Solo Ops, designed for single players seeking short, focused experiences.
• Armor 3.0: A comprehensive overhaul of the armor system, allowing for more customization and strategic builds.
• Implement of Curiosity: A new seasonal artifact providing unique perks and abilities to enhance gameplay.

• Exotic Weapons:
  • Graviton Spike: A hand cannon with dual firing modes – Arc and Stasis, each offering distinct combat effects.
  • Third Iteration: A Void scout rifle firing a spread of energy projectiles, praised for its power and uniqueness.
  • New Land Beyond: A sniper rifle that increases damage with precision hits and offers improved handling.
• Exotic Armor:
  • Melas Panoplia (Titan Gauntlets): Allows Titans to recall their Throwing Hammer, creating explosive effects.
  • Eunoia (Warlock Gauntlets): Enhances projectile damage over distance, causing area-of-effect damage.
  • Moirai (Hunter Chest): Enables Threaded Spike to interact with Tangles, detonating them and returning melee energy.

Pre-Order Bonuses

Players who pre-order The Edge of Fate will receive immediate access to exclusive items, including the Anisotropic Shell and the External Sights Emblem. These items can be claimed from the Special Deliveries kiosk in the Tower or from Shaw Han in the Cosmodrome.
