Apple’s $5,999 Mac Pro went on sale today and all hell broke loose as users realized that they will need to take a mortgage to be able to afford the maxed out Apple Mac Pro. At $52,000, the Mac Pro is without the doubt the most expensive mainstream tech you could possibly own.

The PC is so expensive that you could buy the mid-range Tesla Cybertruck and still have enough money to build yourself a high-end desktop. What’s worst is the optional accessories that Apple is also selling. At the event, Apple showcased that the bottom of the PC could be fitted with wheels for easy transportation. Seems like a great idea, right? Well as it turns out you won’t be getting wheels for free. Users will need to drop a cool $400 to buy the optional wheels for the Mac Pro. What’s more bizarre is that Apple is selling the XDR display separately and it costs another $4,999 and comes with an optional “nano-texture glass” for which you will need to pay an extra $999. Oh, and while you’re at it, don’t forget to get the $999 stand since the display doesn’t come with any stand or holder to keep it standing on your desk.

Speaking off XDR display, if you get the optional texture, then you can’t touch or clean the screen with a normal cloth. Apple’s support article notes that the screen must be clean with a special cloth that Apple bundles with the display. If by any chance you misplace it because it’s a small piece of cloth then you will have to contact Appleโ€™s support line for a replacement. To clean the polishing cloth that comes with the display, you will need to follow the steps below.

  1. Hand wash the polishing cloth with dish soap and water.
  2. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Allow the polishing cloth to air dry for at least 24 hours.

While we understand that the nano-texture needs special care because of the design and we also get the fact that the new Mac Pro is not for everyone, what we don’t understand is the insane price of the accessories. You would think that when you’re buying a $50,000 machine, you would at least get the wheels free with it.
