Asus refreshes its solid 2024 Vivobook S lineups with AMD's new Ryzen AI 300 chips

When Microsoft announced the AI-friendly Copilot+ PCs, Asus was among the first manufacturers to adopt it. And now, as AMD arrives with the new Ryzen AI 300 chips, Asus will adopt the AI processor for the refreshed versions of some of its laptops in the Vivobook lineup.
Announced during the Computex 2024 event not too long ago, Asus said that the 2024 Vivobook S14 (M5406), Vivobook S15 (M5506), and Vivobook S (M5606) models will now have the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, one of the two processors in the Ryzen AI 300 lineup that will be produced soon.
These new refreshed laptops start at about 1.3 kg in weight, the latest AMD Radeon graphics, up to 32GB LPDDR5X memory, and up to 1 TB SSD storage.
AMD’s new Ryzen AI 300 chips may be one of the best AI processors in the market at the moment, if not the most impressive. The chips have the most TOPS (trillion operations per second) count at 50, which is more than the Snapdragon X Elite (45 TOPS), Apple MP (38 TOPS), and AMD Ryzen 8040 (16 TOPS).
Earlier, Asus also announced at the AI-centric Microsoft Surface event that the new Asus Vivobook S 15 (S5507) will be its first-ever Copilot+ PC. That’s in line with our previous report that the Snapdragon X Elite-powered laptop appeared in the Vietnamese market before its launch.
Its 15.6-inch ASUS Lumina OLED display boasts 3K capability with 120 Hz, with connectivity options like WiFi 7, USB4, USB 3.2, and HDMI 2.1. It has a slim, lightweight design, weighing just about 1.4 kg, with a premium all-metal body.
