HP today revealed its premium commercial PC portfolio which includes the new HP EliteBook 1040 G4, the world’s most powerful ultra-slim 14-inch business notebook. The HP EliteBook 1040 G4 will compete with Apple MacBook Pro, Dell XPS 15 and other premium laptops.
HP is claiming that HP EliteBook 1040 G4 is the most powerful laptop in its class because of the processor inside it. It is powered by up to Intel Core i7 Quad Core Processors (H-series) with vPro technology, optional 512GB PCIe Gen 3 SSD and up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM. Despite packing all these specs, EliteBook 1040 G4 measures 12.95 x 9.17 x 0.63 inches and weighs just 1.36kgs.
On the display front, HP is giving business users a wide variety of options to choose from. Customers can select an ultra-bright 700-nit full HD or UHD touch display or even the HP SureView display which protects customers privacy. HP LongLife 6-cell 67Wh Li-ion battery in this laptop will offer great battery life. If you run out of power, you can recharge up to 50% of battery life in just 30 minutes, thanks to HP’s fast charging battery technology. HP EliteBook 1040 G4 comes with an optional WWAN support allowing users to connect to their mobile 3G and 4G networks when needed.
For your hardware connectivity needs, HP has included 2 USB3.1 Gen 1 ports (1 charging), 2 USB 3.1 Type-C ports, 1 HDMI 1.4 port and 1 headphone/microphone combo. There’s also an IR camera to support Windows Hello based authentication. HP is including a new software called PhoneWise in their business PCs. PhoneWise will allow users to answer and respond to their iOS or Android calls and texts through their PC.
The HP EliteBook 1040 G4 is expected to be available in September for a starting price of $1,379
