Elon Musk’s X platform is working on a new feature that will give users an option to let only verified accounts reply to their posts. Users will be able to put that limit before publishing their posts on X.

X users can already select who can reply to their posts. The ability to post comments can be set to Everyone, People you follow, and Only people you mention. Besides these three options, there will be “Verified accounts” as one of the choices while selecting who can reply to your post. If you choose the first option, it lets everyone on X reply to your posts. Choosing the Verified accounts option will mean that only people with the Verified subscription can reply.

The feature was first spotted by app researcher Nima Owji. And based on his recent post, it’s rolling out to the X Android app. However, we don’t see it on our Android devices. The verified accounts limit is not exclusive to Android, though. It’ll also be available on the X iOS app and the web. However, what’s not clear is whether this limit will be available only for paid users.

To get the X Premium subscription, users will have to pay a fee, which costs $8/month or $84/year if the purchase is completed through the web client. The Premium subscription is priced higher for those who use the X app on Android and iOS to get the Verified tag. Apart from the Blue tick, X users will get a bunch of additional features like the ability to edit posts, put up longer posts, undo posts, publish longer videos, and many more.
