While Samsung is all set to re-introduce the Galaxy Fold smartphone to the world, rumors are now suggesting that there is a “trimmed-down” version of the original Galaxy Fold smartphone may be in the works.

MySmartprice has spotted a new model number SM-F700F, which apparently belongs Galaxy Fold. Comparing the earlier model number, which is SM-F900F, of the Galaxy Fold, it is clear that the new number is lower, and hence giving rise to the rumor of a “trimmed-down” version of the Galaxy Fold.

For a quick refresher, Samsung had to push the release date of the Galaxy Fold smartphone after receiving a string of disastrous reviews, including complaints of the screen breaking and small objects getting wedged underneath.

The rumors of a new version of a Galaxy Fold come at a time when Samsung has started taking pre-registration for their Galaxy Fold smartphone. In an alternative to a different Galaxy Fold, it could also happen that Samsung might release the Galaxy Fold with the newer model number, which seems quite unlikely.

The original Galaxy Fold features the world’s first 7.3-inch Infinity Flex Display, which folds into a compact device with a cover display. Galaxy Fold offers a powerful new way to multitask, watch videos, play games, and more. You can see the official full specs of the Galaxy Fold smartphone here.
