Super Lucky’s Tale is one of the biggest surprises to come out of E3 2017. The game started off as a title in the virtual reality space but now it’s coming to Xbox One. How surprising is that? Speaking with GameSpot, Playful’s Paul Bettner—who is developing the game on Xbox One X as well—shared his thoughts on the upcoming system. He said:

“From a developer’s standpoint, Xbox One X is the most developer-friendly console we have ever worked with. Not just because the hardware is super overpowered—which it is. I don’t understand how they…it’s like a high-end PC crammed into this tiny little box…The tools and support we had developing the game is the most advanced it’s ever been. And I think that’s because Microsoft hasn’t necessarily been reinventing, they’ve been refining and making it more powerful. This is the best version yet of the Xbox.”

Recently, Ark: Survival Evolved developer also compared the game to the NVIDIA 1070 graphics card but was a little confused on the memory because the console has 12 GB GDDR5 and graphics cards don’t have that much. Mike Ybarra also said that the console was equivalent to a $1500 gaming machine. Now we have another developer whose game is running at 4K 60 FPS on Xbox One X comparing it to a high-end PC.

This is great news for Microsoft and great news for developers interested in coding for the platform. Having a supercharged console—leaps and bounds above the PlayStation 4 Pro due to an additional 2 TFLOPS—and easy development tools will enable game makers to let their titles shine on the device. It’ll be the go-to system for third-party developers. If you’re a console gamer, the Xbox One X is the place to be.
