Microsoft's Phil Spencer promises to bring Xbox games to Steam again

After a hiatus of not having Microsoft’s first-party games in the Steam market, Xbox Phil Spencer has stated that Microsoft does intend to bring it’s titles back the aforementioned marketplace.

Spencer, during Giant Bomb’s E3 livestream said “I look at Steam today, it’s on an incredible growth trajectory. It’s a massive force in gaming; a positive force, I think it will be bigger a year from now than it is today. And five years later it will still be bigger again.”

He also said that Valve is “an important independent software vendor for us on Windows,” adding that Steam is a “critical part of gaming’s success on Windows,”. He however does not feel that the absence of Microsoft titles is hurting the success of the Steam platform.

Other than confirming that Microsoft “will ship games on Steam again,”, no other info was given, so it looks like for the tine being we’ll have to wait on a word of the timeframe and exactly which titles will make it’s way over.

“There’s going to be areas where we cooperate and there’s going to be areas where we compete,” Spencer said. “The end result is better for gamers.”
