Microsoft today introduced its next-gen Surface Book: the Surface Book 2. Microsoft’s latest Surface is more of an iterative upgrade than a major update with a crazy new feature. The Surface Book 2 comes with lots of powerful specs, and Microsoft is even focusing on gaming on the device this time around.

But there’s a major new addition to the new Surface Book: Microsoft is finally bringing Type-C to the Surface. With the Surface Book 2, the company is adding a single new Type-C port to the device, just near the Surface Connect port. Don’t worry, Microsoft isn’t removing any of the other ports on the device in favor of the new Type-C port. Unfortunately, the Type-C port doesn’t include Thunderbolt support.

The Type-C port on the Surface Book 2 won’t let you charge the device at full speed though. If you want your device to charge at the “regular” speed, you will still want to use the Surface Connector with the device. The Surface Book 2 will launch on November 16, it’ll start at a pulse-pounding $1499 for the 13” version and a heart-stopping $2499 for the base 15” variant.
