iPhone 11 lineup includes new hardware and software changes to mitigate the throttling issue

Last week Apple announced the new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. The new iPhones, among other things, come with a better battery. The issue of batteries on iPhones is not new and around two years back the company was caught slowing down iPhones to prevent battery degradation.

Back then, Apple did provide users with battery replacement to fix the issue to some extent. Now, with the launch of iPhone 11, Apple has added some hardware and software tweaks to further mitigate the problem. According to a new support document undercovered by 9to5Mac, Apple has made hardware changes to reduce the throttling issue.

iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max power needs are dynamically monitored, and performance is managed so that it can address these needs in real time. The system is more advanced than previous iPhone battery and power management systems and allows your iPhone to reduce performance impacts from battery aging.

The monitor will delay the issue but lithium-ion batteries degrade over time and there’s no way to stop that. Apple has noted that poor battery health will result in longer app launch times, worse frame rates, poorer cellular data throughput, as well as potentially lower maximum speaker volume and screen brightness.
