Google fixing the revealed Gemini issues; users love writing style and speed but want fewer refusals

Google’s newest AI assistant, Gemini, concluded its second day of public testing, eliciting positive user feedback and requests for improvement. While users praised its writing style, speed, and integration with existing tools, some areas require immediate attention, according to Google spokesperson Jack Krawczyk. 

We recently discussed how users are not liking Gemini Advanced that much, and now Google has confirmed the flaws by itself. 

Here is the list of things users seem to appreciate about Gemini:

• Writing: Users appreciate Gemini’s natural and engaging writing style.
• Creative spark: Its ability to suggest words and ideas is valuable for overcoming writer’s block.
• Speedy responses: No one wants to wait, and Gemini delivers information quickly.
• Unlimited use: No hitting limits here; users can interact with Gemini freely.
• Always connected: Online accessibility ensures constant support.
• Visual appeal: Images add context and improve understanding.
• Seamless integration: Working with familiar tools like Gmail and Maps is a plus.

And now, there are things users are annoyed with and want to improve as soon as possible. 

• Saying no: Users are frustrated when Gemini refuses to answer questions or perform tasks. This is a top priority for the development team.
• Limited access: The mobile app hasn’t reached everyone yet but will be available in new regions (LATAM, Africa, Asia Pacific, Canada) on Monday, with Europe coming soon.
• Guiding guardrails: Some find the safety restrictions overly restrictive and humorous. These will be adjusted for a more natural interaction.
• Expanding abilities: Integrating calendars, reminders, and routines would enhance functionality.
• Android app enhancements: The conversational overlay input needs better submission options on Android devices.

While its early performance demonstrates potential, addressing user feedback, particularly reducing refusals and expanding functionalities, will be crucial for Gemini’s continued development and user adoption.
