In April Fitbit said they are moving all their development resources to Windows 10, and would not be updating their Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 apps any further, saying:

Beginning on April 28, 2016 we will no longer provide support for the Fitbit app for Windows computers and tablets running Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. You can continue to use the app you already downloaded, but it won’t be available for future downloads. If you use a computer running Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1, you can continue to sync your tracker with Fitbit Connect to view your stats.

We will continue to support the Windows 8.1 mobile app with security and support updates.

If possible, we recommend upgrading your PC, tablet, or mobile device to Windows 10. Once you upgrade, you can download the Fitbit app for Windows 10 for the best PC and mobile experience, and uninterrupted syncing of your tracker. The Fitbit app for Windows 10 will be the focus for our efforts moving forward.

It seems that was not quite the end however (possibly because only a small percent of handsets have been updated to W10M) as the company has just pushed out an update to their WP8.1 app, taking it to version 2.4.552.28650.

Unfortunately the changelog for the update is not available yet. Have our readers noticed anything new? Let us know below.
