On May 12, 2025, Rockfish Games launched Wrath of the Ancients, the final expansion for Everspace 2. The $24.99 DLC lands on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, closing out the looter-shooter with new locations, enemies, and high-stakes gear.
The update brings four new star systems, including the long-anticipated Okkar homeworlds and the mysterious Aethon Cluster. Each location adds fresh puzzles, enemy types, and loot drops that push the game’s combat even further. Players can now pilot the Wraith, a risky new ship that deals more damage the closer it gets to destruction, thanks to its Spectral Form.

Gear progression ramps up with the introduction of Ascendant-tier items. These new upgrades go beyond existing gear and can be further powered using Ancient Altars. Rockfish also added 16 Okkar Catalysts, which allow players to mod their weapons with unique attributes.
With this DLC, Rockfish ends Everspace 2 on a bold note. Instead of easing players into an endgame loop, it raises the stakes with tougher fights, deeper customization, and new zones that demand aggressive builds and smarter tactics.
