Atlus Drops July 2025 Release Date for Metaphor: ReFantazio, Check Details Here

On July 11, 2025, Atlus will release Metaphor: ReFantazio, a new fantasy RPG from the team behind Persona 3, 4, and 5. The announcement dropped with a 30-minute showcase that outlined combat, worldbuilding, and social mechanics.

Directed by Katsura Hashino and featuring art by Shigenori Soejima and music from Shoji Meguro, the game brings a familiar Persona energy to a darker fantasy setting. Players will explore a kingdom in crisis, where citizens fight to elect a new ruler. You’ll play as a masked hero – one of the few who can bond with magical creatures called Archetypes.

Combat shifts from turn-based to action at will. You can slow time to target enemies, attack with speed, then return to tactical decision-making. Between battles, players build relationships, gain reputation, and shape their place in the political fight.

While Persona fans will recognize the stylish UI and layered character growth, Metaphor carves out a sharper, more experimental direction.
