Apex Legends crossplay

Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale game will be introducing a long-requested mode… With a catch. Apex Legends duos will be a limited time event.

As part of this season’s introduction of new maps, modes, weapons. legends and more, Apex will finally allow gunplay-duets with the introduction of a single partner.

The Apex Legends duos mode is exactly what it sounds like. Instead of the typical group of four playable legends teaming up to take down foes, groups will consist of just two players.

Respawn will be introducing the mode to players on November 5th, but no end-date was given. Judging by the length of the game’s last limited-time mode, Solos Mode, Duos may last just two weeks.

Alongside yesterday’s announcement of Dragon Age 4 and Battlefield 6 launch periods, EA’s financials for the fiscal quarter mentioned Apex often. With the title reaching over 70 million players, EA is confident that the title will remain a key pillar for the studio. If the title continues to do well, we should expect a next-gen port in a year or so.

After the success of Apex, EA isn’t confirming that the developer will be working on Titanfall 3. With the publisher’s push towards creating more live service experience, even in the face of their largest single-player release in years, Titanfall 3 may be a ways off.

“We really want to keep the team hyper-focused on Apex because we see there’s so much opportunity there, so I can’t give you a sense of if and when [Titanfall 3] will come, but it’s still a great brand and we certainly won’t forget about it down the road,” said EA CFO Blake Jorgensen
