You Can Now To Present Content Directly From Camera in Google Meet - Here's How

On June 5, 2025, Google rolled out a new feature in Meet that lets users present physical content live through their device’s camera. Whether it’s a handwritten chart, a real-world prototype, or a simple whiteboard sketch, you can now switch your feed from face to document – without leaving the call or using third-party tools.

The feature is available for Google Workspace users and can be accessed through the “Present” button in the Meet interface. Once you click “Present,” you’ll see a new option called “Camera” alongside the existing choices like sharing a tab, window, or entire screen. Select your camera feed, and then choose whether you want to show yourself, an object, or a secondary angle (like a whiteboard or textbook page).

Users can toggle between front and rear cameras (on mobile) or use an external webcam (on desktop) to adjust the perspective. There’s also an optional framing guide to help keep your content centered and easy to read.

This update feels like a response to the growing need for more dynamic, in-the-moment sharing. This can be useful, especially in classrooms, workshops, or remote training sessions. Instead of scanning or uploading files ahead of time, you can now hold up a physical document and instantly bring it into your meeting.

The feature has started rolling out to Google Workspace customers, including users with Education and Enterprise plans. Admins don’t need to make any changes—this is turned on by default.

You can read more about this on the official Workspace Updates blog here.
