Microsoft has been hyping the October 2 Surface event since the last few days, the event is over and there is no iota of doubt that the hype was indeed real. The Redmond giant has launched a slew of products and that include Surface Laptop 3, Surface Pro 7, Surface Earbuds, Surface Pro X, Surface Neo, and last but not the list a pocketable dual-screen Surface device called Surface Duo.

Surface Laptop 3

The Surface Laptop 3 will be available in two variants — a 13-inch model which will be powered by an Intel processor and a 15-inch model and powering this variant will be an AMD processor.

The 13-inch model will be powered by a Quad-core 10th Gen Intel Ice Lake processor coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. If you want more storage, you can also replace the SSD and add more to the new Surface Laptop 3. Microsoft added a new color option that is sandstone finish for his variant. The Alcantara fabric is optional in the 13-inch Surface Laptop 3, which many of us wanted.

The 15-inch model, on the other hand, will be powered by AMD Ryzen 7 Processor. It has support for fast charging, and if you’re interested in numbers, it can take the battery from 0 to 80 percent in an hour — that’s impressive, to say the least. The RAM and storage options are similar to those of the 13-inch model. You can replace the SSD in this variant too. The 15-inch model won’t be available with Alcantara.

Both the laptops include a USB-C port and are up for pre-order right now and will cost $999 and $1,199 respectively. The laptops will start shipping from 22nd October. You can pre-order using below links.

Surface Pro 7

The Surface Pro 7 is powered by the new 10th gen Intel processors which is coupled with 4/8/16 GB of RAM and 128/256/512 GB and 1 TB of Storage. The company will be giving users the option to choose between i3, i5, and i7 variants. The company is finally adding a USB Type-C port to Surface Pro 7. The Surface Pro 7 will feature the same 3:2 aspect ratio on a 12.3-inch Pixelsense display. Microsoft Surface Pro 7 will support fast charging bringing the laptop up to 80% charge in just an hour, just like the Laptop 3.

The Surface Pro 7 is available for pre-order today and will cost you $749. The device will ship starting from 22nd October. You can pre-order it starting at $799 from Microsoft Store using the below links.

This was a surprising announcement. The new Surface Earbuds is truly wireless earbuds that work with any Bluetooth device and comes with dual mic array and 24 hours of battery life. It comes with touch gesture support, allowing you to control applications without using a mobile device. The earbuds will come with Office apps integration. It’ll be available for $249 later this year.

Surface Pro X

Microsoft revealed an ARM-powered Surface device, which is reminiscent of the original Surface Pro, called Surface Pro X. Microsoft’s  SQ1 ARM processor will be powering the device. Yes, that’s right, Microsoft just announced their first ARM chipset. The company said it had worked with Qualcomm to bring the chipset to life. And According to Microsoft, it is the fastest Qualcomm processor ever created for a PC.

The new Surface X comes with a 13-inch display packed in an ultra-thin body that also has a trademark kickstand. Like the existing Surface devices, the new Surface X will also support Type Cover and the new Surface Slim Pen. It is the thinnest Surface Pro with 5.5mm thickness and weighs just 1.68 pounds. It also supports Fast charging and comes with LTE support. Microsoft mentioned that the new Surface Pro X will offer 13 hours of battery life.

Microsoft created a thinnest LCD stack to develop this dual-screen device. Surface Neo just weighs 655 grams and each part of the display is 5.6mm thick. Unlike other Surface devices, the new Surface Neo is powered by Windows 10X, a new edition of Windows designed for dual-screen devices. The Surface Neo will be available next year during the holiday season.

Surface Duo

This is the most surprising announcement because none of us ever thought that Microsoft would launch a foldable smartphone that too powered by Android. The new Surface Duo is a pocketable Surface phone that fans were waiting for. And since it’s powered by Android it’ll support all the Android apps. Add to that, you’ll be able to run Microsoft’s Windows Store apps as well.

The Surface Duo comes with two 5.6” displays and it unfolds to 8.3” display. The 360-degree hinge will allow you to use this device in various modes. The current Surface Duo device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor which is already outdated right now. But Microsoft mentioned that this is not a final product, so Microsoft might introduce a newer Qualcomm processor when it launches. The Surface Duo will be available in the holiday season 2020.

Adobe Fresco, which is available only on Apple iPad, is a dedicated drawing and painting app designed specifically for stylus and touch devices and the app will be available on Windows, as announced by Adobe at the Microsoft event.
