Yes, Microsoft announced a mobile device and it is called Surface Duo. It runs Android apps as well and supports full Play Store apps. The Surface Duo comes with two 5.6” displays and it unfolds to 8.3” display. The 360-degree hinge will allow you to use this device in various modes. Surface Duo brings together the best of Microsoft productivity, Android apps and Surface hardware design into a device you can take anywhere.

There are some bad news about Surface Duo, I hope Microsoft will fix it when it launches next year. The current Surface Duo device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor which is already outdated right now. There are no back cameras in Surface Duo for now. But Microsoft mentioned that this is not a final product and there will be design changes around the camera. Camera is a key part of a mobile experience, I hope Microsoft will nail it.

Microsoft is announcing the device so early so that developers can optimize their apps for dual-screen devices like Surface Neo and Surface Duo.

The Surface Duo will be available in holiday season 2020.
