Subway Surfers for Windows Phone is getting discontinued for Windows 10 Mobile. Kiloo, the firm behind the game initially stopped support for Subway Surfers for Windows Phone 8 based devices back in 2016, but continued to support Windows 10 Mobile devices, but has now axed even those from support.

According to WindowsArea.de, the firm sent customers the following email:

Thanks for being a loyal player on the Windows platform!

Unfortunately, Cairo is the last update for Subway Surfers on the platform. You can keep enjoying the game, but we will not release further updates, due to the development plans of the platform owner.

While Microsoft still supports Windows 10 Mobile with security updates, the platform has long since stagnated, with no new features or new apps debuting.

A Surface phone has been rumoured to be in development, but it’ll be hard to see how Microsoft can lure developers and users to this new platform when it has failed to lure those same developers to its own much more poupular, less controversial, Windows desktop platform.
