Star Wars Battlefront II just pulled off another comeback. On June 17, the game’s player count on Steam blasted past 50,000 concurrent users, beating titles like Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Modern Warfare III.

The resurgence isn’t tied to any new update or event. Fans simply returned. With no fresh content or patch to trigger the spike, this latest revival feels organic, possibly sparked by nostalgia, social media buzz, or a fresh wave of new players discovering the 2017 shooter.

This isn’t the first time Battlefront II has exploded like this. In early 2021, a free giveaway on the Epic Games Store caused a similar spike, pushing the game over 100,000 concurrent users. This time, though, Steam charts alone show massive traction.

Other recent Gaming news –

Back in 2017, the game launched under heavy fire. EA’s microtransaction model drew sharp backlash, and players hammered the progression system as grind-heavy. But after strong community feedback, EA revamped the economy, pulled pay-to-win mechanics, and slowly rebuilt goodwill.

Today, Battlefront II stands as a rare redemption story. No active updates are planned, but the community remains active, fueled by modders, private events, and pure love for blasting stormtroopers in multiplayer chaos.

As of now, EA hasn’t commented on the spike. Still, the numbers speak clearly: Battlefront II refuses to fade, even eight years after launch. The Force, evidently, still pulls.
