Shenmue III will not be making its August release date thanks to a new delay.

Announced through the game’s Kickstarter page, the long-awaited third entry in the adventure series will now be releasing on November 19th.

The announcement reads as so:

Hello Everyone,

Today, Yu Suzuki & Deep Silver would like to give a message concerning the release date.

Shenmue III will now release on 19th November 2019.

[before] August 27, 2019

 [new] November 19, 2019

Whilst almost ready, the game simply needs a little more refinement before being truly finished.

We feel that the extra time we have will help us deliver the true Shenmue experience players around the world deserve!

We thank you for your patience and understanding,

Yu Suzuki & Deep Silver

The game’s recent showing in its latest trailer didn’t inspire much confidence in the series’ third entry, but maybe that’s what the game’s extra polish will focus on. After all, upcoming Kickstarter game Bloodstained recently saw a huge graphical overhaul just before its approaching release.

Shenmue 3 is launching on PS4 and PC. Remasters of the original two Shenmue games are available on PC, Xbox and PS4
