Are you looking forward to a Sea of Thieves next-gen enhancement? Well, you’re getting one, and now we know how the pirate multiplayer game will be expanded for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
Rare’s next-gen plans for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S hasn’t been shown off yet, but the Sea of Thieves developer did explain what next-gen players will be getting on their shiny new consoles.
Revealed on Twitter, Rare explained the “key optimisations” that will be available in the Sea of Thieves next-gen enhancement.
Firstly, the next-gen versions of the game will see drastically reduced load times due to both consoles’ internal SSD. Secondly, both consoles will see an increased framerate over the base Xbox One and Xbox One X versions.
That means players will have a doubled framerate of 60fps but the two machines will output this at different resolutions. Xbox Series X will run the game at a full 4K but Xbox Series S will only run the game at 1080p.
Excited about setting sail on Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S? These are the key optimisations for your next-gen Sea of Thieves experience, so get set to enjoy some silky-smooth skelly smashing:
