Rockstar Games has acquired Dhruva Interactive from struggling publisher Starbreeze.

Purchased for $7.9 million, Rockstar and Dhruva are expected to close their deal during the first half of this year. Dhruva, an Indian art production studio, will be working with Rockstar India which was founded back in 2016.

Dhruva Interactive has over 320 employees. With a background in artwork for Quantum Break, Halo 5, Forza Horizon 3 and Sea of Thieves, they’re certainly a strong art team for any video game.

The company was founded back in March 1997 and was purchased by Starbreeze in 2016. Rockstar’s purchase of Starbreeze’s 91.82% stake is a strong gain for the worldwide game developer.

With Red Dead Redemption 2 finally out of the door, it’s pretty good, this may be Rockstar’s first step towards a new title. Of course, as with Red Dead, we shouldn’t expect a new Rockstar game for a long, long time.
