As we reported on many moons ago, Persona 5’s Joker has been confirmed for Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Now we have an update – he’s due out today!

Nintendo dropped a 15-and-a-bit minute long video that shows off Ultimate’s 3.0 update. The video showcases Joker’s abilities, the new Mementos themed stage, which also contains homages to Persona 3 and 4, and the new selection of songs from the Persona series.

Joker’s main weapons are his gun and knife, meaning he brought both a gun and a knife to a gun-knife fight. He also has special moves, including a counter known as Rebel’s Guard which fills up a Rebellion Gauge which allows him to summon his in-game persona, Arsene. Arsene provides a buff to Joker’s moves while active.

The Mementos stage changes colour based on what background music is from. For example, if there’s background music from Persona 4 playing, the stage will be a lovely shade of blue.

There’s also plenty of alternate outfits, too! Twitter user CreepzTW discovered an entire treasure trove of Joker’s alts.

There’s recolours of Joker’s Phantom Thief outfit, with each colour being a homage to a previous Persona game. There’s also a special Crow recolour for the outfit. There’s also two Shujin Academy outfits available, for those who prefer to kick ass while in school uniform.

There’s also new outfits and accessories for the in-game Mii fighters. These include a Morgana hat, the Persona 3 protagonist’s outfit, the Persona 4 protagonist’s outfit, and a Teddie hat.

Persona 5 is a 2016 role-playing game developed by Atlus and released exclusively for PlayStation. The game follows the protagonist as he tries to balance being a law-abiding citizen after an incident which forced him to transfer across the country and being the leader of the Phantom Thieves, a secret vigilante group who ‘steal hearts’ to force people to realize the error of their ways.

Joker aside, there’s also a couple of free features being added in v3.0. These include a stage builder, video editor, and the Smash World social app.

Version 3.0 of Super Smash Bros Ultimate is due out today.
