WhatsApp has been working on Dark Mode for a long time now but there’s no word on an actual release schedule yet. Although, WhatsApp might be close to finalizing the feature and rolling it out to the users soon.

According to an article published by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has now added dark mode to the calls and status pages of the app. The screenshots match the ones shared earlier in an article showing the dark mode implementation on other parts of the app. Unfortunately, WABetaInfo also noted that a lot of sections aren’t compatible with the Night Mode so it might still be a while before the feature is made available for the public.

That said, the company is definitely making progress and we expect to see the rollout soon. WhatsApp is expected to follow a standard schedule of rolling the feature out to the beta users first and then moving forward with a full public rollout.
