An all-new entry in the decades-old racing franchise Need for Speed will be releasing this year, but it won’t be at E3 2019.
Announced via the EA Forum, DICE‘s Ben Walke issued an update on what we can expect for the next Need for Speed title.
As the series turns 25 years old, EA is keen to note that a new game is in development and is slated for this year. Allegedly, the team has “thought a lot about what NFS means to you and, perhaps more importantly, what we hope it will mean as we move forward.”
Walke notes that cars and customisation are both notable aspects of the NFS series, hopefully meaning that we expect more of both in the next entry. Whilst the previous game, Need for Speed: Payback, offered a lot of cars, customisation was still on the weak side.
So, while the title won’t be shown off at E3, it is coming this year. Hopefully, it’ll be the first great NFS game this generation.
