In the latest TestFlight build for Mixer Create, an app that allows people to stream gameplay directly from their mobile device, the ability to take advantage of iOS 11’s new Screen Recorder was added (via On MSFT).

This may not seem like a big deal at first, but Mixer Create on iOS did not have the ability to stream every game before. Developers needed to have support built into their games using ReplayKit, meaning streaming was previously very limited. Broadcasting your content just got a whole lot easier with this new feature, essentially taking the shackles off and allowing it to become a more open platform.

Screen Recorder, a tool added in iOS 11, allows people to record a video of their device’s screen and lets them stream their screen through third-party apps. Mixer Create now gives someone the ability to use the Screen Recorder while streaming an app or game to Mixer live. This circumvents the need for individual games to have built-in support by the developers.

If you want to try out this feature, which is only available in the TestFlight build for beta users and not to the public as of yet, open up the Control Center and tap on the Screen Recorder. From there, simply tap on Mixer Create.

Mixer Create can be downloaded for free through iTunes.
