Back in June of this year, Microsoft first announced that they were bringing brand a new Avatar system which is built from the ground up for Xbox One with a variety of new body type options, gender neutral clothing system and more. This new experience will be delivered as part of the Fall Creators Update for Xbox One which is releasing later this year probably around the same time as Xbox One X. Today, Windows Central got access to the upcoming Avatar Editor for Windows 10 devices and they shared their experience with the program.
This app is built on Unity 3D and offers a staggering amount of combinations and features to tailor your Xbox Avatars. You can select from millions of color options, select the avatar’s body language, mood and much more. You can even express if you are pregnant if you have a prosthesis.
“No matter what you think you look like, what you want to represent online, this new Avatar system, the whole way we built it, is designed to make sure you feel like you can represent your best self online,” said Bryan Saftler, Xbox Lead Product Manager.
The Xbox Avatars Editor experience is similar to the already available Avatar Editor app, but comes with Fluent design elements. It looks great and we can’t wait until it rolls out to everyone soon.
