Users are furious after finding out that the Microsoft Rewards cooldown period has cut down points to only three searches per 15 minutes, and rightfully so.

Social media users have been voicing their displeasure over the recent implementation of the new policy in the past few days, at least since last week. Now, a widely shared screenshot suggests that Microsoft is indeed enforcing this policy, which limits users from earning more points than before.

Check out the discovery, as shared by @IdleSloth84_ on X (fka Twitter):

People are upset because Microsoft appears to be gradually reducing the number of points they award and eliminating methods for earning them, such as points for using Edge, which has been discontinued in many countries. It seems pointless to continue “harvesting” points at this stage.

“I’m about to give up. I just recently got back into Microsoft Rewards a couple of months ago and it’s been on a decline ever since. Search cool down, no more points for Edge, puzzle piece went away 1 week before completion, and probably more that I’m missing,” one user comments.

The Microsoft Rewards app on Xbox will also soon face its retirement, marking an end to its incentives weekly challenges, and streaks.

It’s not really rewarding, indeed. Ouch.
