A screen shot from a presentation by T-Mobile Poland has just leaked via the Unofficial Xperia Blog, and while they are concerned with Sony’s roadmap, it also contains some interesting news for Lumia fans.
The slide deck appears to indicate that 2 new Lumias will be heading to the Polish carrier in Q1 2016- one earlier in the quarter and the other one later.
The deck already lists the Lumia 950 and 950 XL, so these are not the handsets in question, leaving the Lumia 550 as one likely device and the other as unknown.
Both devices will support Voice over LTE and WIFI calling, but this is already standard with all new Lumias.
Likely candidates are the Lumia 650 or Lumia 850 (or ideally both if the Lumia 550 is not being counted).
The Lumia 650 is expected to feature:
- Qualcomm MSM8909 Snapdragon 210
- 5″ 720p display
- 2000 mAh battery
- Includes Glance Screen support
- No dedicated camera button
- microSD card slot
The Lumia 850 is a device on much less solid ground, but with much more welcome specs, which are rumoured as:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor
- 5.7″ 1080P display
- metallic band and gold trim
The roadmap as laid out seems to be a reasonable progression for serving the Windows 10 Mobile market, and should keep enough devices in the pipeline to keep customers interested.
