After a listing on Xbox’s website was updated to indicate that Halo 5: Guardians was available on Xbox One and Windows 10, speculation began that a PC release of the full game was imminent. Unfortunately, it turns out this was just an error.

Halo franchise development director Frank O’Connor commented in a thread on ResetEra that Halo 5 for PC is “not being worked on at this time.” This doesn’t mean it won’t make its way to PCs someday, but it doesn’t appear to be in the near future.

In a statement to Windows Central, a Microsoft spokesperson stated, “The Windows 10 logo on the Halo 5: Guardians product page is in reference to the existing Halo 5: Forge feature, which is available at no cost and includes custom multiplayer games and the Forge map editor.”

Sorry to crush your dreams. If it’s any consolation, Halo Infinite, the upcoming mainline Halo game, will be releasing for Windows 10 in addition to Xbox One.
