Google Workspace’s May 2, 2025, update introduces several enhancements across its suite. Developers can now utilize the Google Chat Custom Emoji API to create, delete, retrieve, and list custom emojis via RPC and REST methods. This feature is available to all Google Workspace customers.

In Google Sheets, API support for tables has been added, allowing users to programmatically create and modify tables. This functionality is accessible to Workspace customers, individual subscribers, and personal account holders.

The Gemini mobile app now includes the Deep Research feature, which provides comprehensive reports on complex topics. Additionally, users can upload files to Gems in all supported languages, enhancing the app’s contextual understanding. Admins must enable Workspace apps in Gemini to utilize file uploads from Google Drive.

These Google updates are rolling out to Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains and are expected to complete within 15 business days.
