According to a recent report from The Information, Google is developing a new AI assistant called Pixie that will be exclusive to Pixel devices.

Pixie is said to be powered by Google’s latest and most powerful large language model, according to Google, of course, which might not be 100% true, Gemini, and will be able to do things that the current Google Assistant can’t, such as working offline and using data from your Gmail and Maps activities to personalize your experience.

Google has recently announced that it will rebrand its assistant app to Bard. However, it is being reported that Bard will not support all of the features of the classic assistant app, at least for now. Therefore, it is safe to assume that Pixels will not be getting Bard but rather Pixie.

What does this mean for Pixel users?

If the report is accurate, Pixie could provide Pixel users with a more personalized and convenient experience than the current Google Assistant, particularly those who use their phones offline.

It’s important to note that Google has not confirmed the existence of Pixie, so we’ll have to wait and see if it comes to fruition. However, if it does, it could be a major step forward for Google and AI assistants.
