Google rolled out Gemini-powered summaries in four more languages this week, which include Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, and French. The feature, which condenses unread messages in Chat spaces, first launched in English earlier this year.

The expansion helps more Workspace users catch up on conversations without scrolling through dozens of posts. Google says Gemini scans unread messages and drops a summary card at the top of the chat, showing key points since the user last checked in.

This update supports both mobile and desktop versions of Chat, but only for users on eligible Google Workspace plans. Admins don’t need to take any action to enable it. Once available in a user’s region and language, the feature appears automatically in supported threads.

Gemini summaries rely on recent message history, so they don’t always show up in every chat. Users can spot them at the top of long threads with high activity.

The company says this rollout will reach all supported accounts by mid-June. Google has not yet shared when it will expand to additional languages.

Gemini’s push into more languages shows how Google continues to build on its current Workspace tools, bringing language support closer to its global user base.
