Tachi Here’s a nice bit of good news.  It has been speculated recently that the earliest we will see Windows Mobile 6.5 devices would be in Q4 2009, even around November. It now seems that time table has accelerated, and we may see the first device to launch with Windows Mobile 6.5 in less than 2 months, in July 2009.

The smartphone would be a Chinese device branded by Dopod, a subsidiary of HTC, and would be pretty well specified.  The Tachi, (AKA Twin from our HTC Roadmap leak from January this year) will have dual radio’s (CDMA and GSM) and a VGA screen.

The full specs are:

  • 2.8-inch screen
  • WiFi
  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • 3.1MP camera with  auto-focus
  • Front facing camera
  • MicroSD
  • This news is pretty good, and one can only hope all devices launched after July this year will come with WM 6.5 build in from the start.
