A few hours ago, Brad Rossetti shared that an estimated time for when custom gamerpics will go live for all Alpha Xbox Insiders would be revealed by Larry Hryb today. Well, that time has arrived! According to numerous reports on Reddit and social media, custom gamerpics can now be applied to Xbox Live profiles. Just go to change gamerpic in your profile, and in the upper right-hand corner you’ll see the option to upload a custom image among the available gamerpics.

Custom gamerpics have been a much-requested feature for years now and it’s finally here! Testers can now upload any normal image—no nudity or other vulgar photographs—and they show appear on their profile. For those thinking about uploading images against the terms and conditions, you can get your account banned. Having your account banned means that you lose a lot of privileges, including access to certain games and add-ons. Obviously there will be problems like that when the ability launches for all Xbox One owners so hopefully Microsoft will be able to contain it in an adequate way. So far, every image has to be approved by the Xbox Live Enforcement team. However, those who do upload such images on their profile shouldn’t complain if they get banned because it’s not only a policy, but it’s also a matter of decency and common sense.
