Google Sheets is expanding Gemini’s chart-generation capabilities to more languages, allowing users to create visualizations using text prompts faster. The new additions are Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Italian, French, and German. This includes English, which has been supported since the feature first launched in March.
If you’ve used Gemini in Sheets, you’ll know it can instantly create charts or offer data insights based on natural language requests. That ability is now rolling out to more people globally who speak and work in non-English languages, given that they’re using Google Workspace with Gemini enabled.

Google says this change will be available to all Gemini for Google Workspace customers, including users on Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Plus, and Education Standard plans. Gemini add-on customers. Note that Google One AI Premium is not included.
The move reflects Google’s push to make its AI tools accessible across more regions and demographics. While English-first features tend to dominate early releases, support for regional languages often comes slowly. With Gemini now understanding prompts in these added languages, teams working in Asia and other non-English-dominant regions can generate charts directly in Sheets with fewer barriers.
Users can access the feature via Gemini by tapping the “sparkle” icon within Google Sheets. The update has already begun rolling out since June 17.
