Microsoft has just announced on Monday that the Azure Arc site manager, a one-stop place for solutions in different physical locations like stores and factories, is now live in public preview.
The Redmond tech giant said in the announcement that you can make Arc sites to show your on-site setups and check monitoring data for your edge infrastructure.
The preview supports Azure Stack HCI, Azure Arc-enabled servers & VMs, Azure Arc-enabled Kubernetes, and Azure IoT Operations assets, with future support for features like Infrastructure-as-Code creation coming soon. You can take this feature out for a spin here.
And besides, in a separate announcement, Microsoft says that it’s launching the new Azure SQL Migration extension for Azure Data Studio, version 1.5.4.
This version brings handy features like a Single-click SHIR setup, which makes configuring Self-hosted Integration Runtime (SHIR) a breeze. Also, it fixes SKU recommendations to display numbers correctly based on regional conventions. Plus, now you can give feedback when canceling migration sessions.
Microsoft Azure is one of the most popular cloud computing services around. It’s mainly used for building, deploying, and managing applications and services through Microsoft’s global network of data centers.
Azure is becoming increasingly popular, especially as it integrates AI. Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s number-one man, mentioned earlier this year how AI will enhance Azure, providing pre-trained models like GPT-3 and GPT-4, along with other open-source models or smaller architectures.
