Foldable phones and tablets are expected to be huge in 2019, with Samsung reported to be launching its Samsung Galaxy Flex in the first half of the year.
Now, a new video from Evleaks hints that Chinese telecommunications company, Xiaomi, may also be just about ready to release its own foldable device this year.
Can't speak to the authenticity of this video or device, but it's allegedly made by Xiaomi, I'm told. Hot new phone, or gadget porn deepfake? pic.twitter.com/qwFogWiE2F

For those who aren’t sure, the video shows a foldable device running Android under Xiaomi’s MIUI skin. Now, while the leaker can’t vouch for the veracity of the gadget and thus the video, it’s not implausible.
For one, isn’t the first we’ve seen of a Xiaomi foldable phone. ET Times reported in July last year that Xiaomi was ordering components for a foldable phone for this year.
Finally, Xiaomi isn’t afraid to work on weird ‘concept’ phones as it showed with its bezels Xiaomi Mi Mix phone. The firm isn’t also afraid to anticipate and build in support for new Android features in its MiUi skin.
Regardless of whether this video is authentic or not, it does provide another glimpse at how a foldable device could work.
