Microsoft Local PC streaming Xbox Series consoles Microsoft Xbox Series Xbox October 2020 update E-rated games

Xbox Series consoles may be able to use nearly every feature available on Xbox One, but nearly doesn’t mean all.  In a surprising turn on events,  the next-gen consoles completely forgot about local PC streaming.

Streaming from your Xbox One console to your PC via local WiFi is a pretty neat feature, and unfortunately it’s locked as an exclusive feature on Microsoft’s now last-gen systems.

Twitter user Rafael Rivera took to social media to reveal that the Xbox Series consoles both suffer from the lack of local PC streaming.  While the feature has mostly been sidelined in favour of local streaming to mobile phones on the Xbox app, its still a missing feature.

On the Xbox support page,  it says the following regarding the missing feature:

It’s always disappointing to see a feature go, especially when the feature has so much use, much like the web browser on PlayStation 5.
