Xbox One RetailXbox One SDK along with documentation got leaked online yesterday. This SDK allows developers to bring apps and games to Xbox One platform. Unlike Windows or Windows Phone platforms, Xbox One platform is a closed one. Only select developers who got approval from Microsoft can develop and release games/apps on Xbox One. One the developers were approved, Microsoft will share the SDK and Xbox One developer console to those developers.

Now, the Xbox One SDK along with its documentation got leaked online, so any developer can make use of it to develop apps/games for Xbox One. But, they need Microsoft’s approval to publish it on Xbox Store. There is a possibility that homebrew community may emerge from this leak. Hackers may find a way to sideload apps/games on Xbox One which will allow anyone to develop and share their apps/games.

What do you think of this leak?
